Layton Legacy Stake Volunteer Opportunities

 Parking & Transportation (Adults only)

Volunteers will help coordinate and assist in parking needs for the open house. Parking attendants will be outside and standing most of the time during the three-hour shift. 

Safety & Security (Adults only)

Volunteers will assist in safety/security needs for the open house. Requires standing and walking for three hours, navigating up to four flights of stairs, communicating effectively during emergent situations, and de-escalating conflicts. 

Medical (Adults only)

Volunteers will assist in first aid, safety & security for the open house. Volunteers will provide basic first aid only. Local first responders will be contacted for more serious needs. Only adults can serve in this position and volunteers need to have basic first aid training or above. Requires standing and walking for three hours. 

Foot Cover Volunteer (Adults & YM/YW)

Volunteers will assist patrons in putting on/taking off shoe coverings for the open house. Requires sitting, reaching, standing, and stooping.

Temple Cleaners (Adults & YM/YW)

Volunteers are privileged to prepare the temple for the next day’s guests. This shift is from 9 pm – 12 am. The cleaning crew will vacuum, sweep, dust and clean windows.

Ushering (Adults & YM/YW)

Volunteers will guide and assist guests as they tour the Layton Temple. You will be stationed inside the temple to indicate the direction of the tour route. Requires standing for three hours. 

On Call - Adults & YM/YW – (Stake Specific)

If there are no positions left on the days your Stake is assigned, you may register to be an “On Call (Stake Specific) Volunteer”.  If there are extra needs or a cancellation occurs during the days your stake is assigned, you will be contacted to see if you can serve.  You may be asked to serve in any position, so please be familiar with all the opportunities and requirements listed above

 If you are unable to volunteer on the days your Stake is Assigned, please sign up on the  “On Call Volunteers (All Stakes)”.  If there are any needs during the open house, you will be contacted to see if you can serve.  You may be asked to serve in any position, so please be familiar with all the opportunities and requirements listed above. 

On Call Translation

If you speak another language and would be available to help translate for someone during the Layton Temple Open House, please sign up on the “On Call Translators (All Stakes)”.   If there are any translation needs during the open house, you will be contacted to see if you can serve.
